Tournament Information The Hampshire FC/Amherst Soccer Club of Amherst, New Hampshire cordially invites you to our 23rd Annual Memorial Day Classic Soccer Tournament. Drawing over 275 teams from around New England, we are committed to hosting the highest quality event for players and their families; and will once again limit the number of participants in order to ensure that a maximum level of competition is provided on the best quality fields. Tournament filled up last year. Be sure to register early to avoid being put on a wait list and to receive the $15 discount per team.
Non-competitive We will offer the 6v6 format for boys and girls teams U-8, U-9, and U-10. We will also offer the 8v8 format for Boys and Girls U-10. Please indicate your choice on the application. Each team will play four (4) games-2 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. Each player will receive an award for participation. Groupings and divisions will be determined by number of teams registering in each brackett.
Competitive We will offer the 8v8 format for Boys and Girls U-11 and U-12 teams and the 11v11 format for Boys and Girls U-13, U-14, U-15, U-16, U-17 and U-18/U-19 teams. There will be a minimum of three (3) games (played on Saturday and Sunday) for all teams U-11 and above playing 8v8 or 11v11 with the potential for playoffs on Monday. If a grouping has an odd number of teams, one team will play 4 games (The fourth game will not count towards the team playing four games but will count for the opposing team playing their third). Groupings and divisions will be determined by number of teams registering in each brackett.
Awards Non-competitive: Each player will receive an award for participation in the coaches packet handed out at coaches checkin Friday night. Competitive: Each winner and runner-up in each competitive category and following the championship game on Monday will receive an award. Both 1st and 2nd place teams of each division need to report to Headquarters immediately following the championship game to receive awards.
Dates Saturday & Sunday, May 23rd & 24th, with playoffs for competitive divisions on Monday, May 25th.
Location Souhegan High School, Amherst, New Hampshire.
Age Groups Girls and Boys U8-U19 teams accepted. See application on registration link. Age groups and divisions are dependent on the number of applications received in that age group and division. The Tournament retains the right to combine age groups if needed.
Rosters Maximum Roster size for 6v6 teams is 13 players, 8v8 teams is 16 players, 11v11 teams (U11-U14) is 18 players and 11v11 teams (U15-U19) is 22 players (This change has been made to be inaccordance with USYS. However, only 18 players will be allowed to dress per game and no guest players will be allowed if roster size is over 18). Rosters are not required in order to submit an application. Double rostering in the same age group is not permitted. 5 Guest Players are allowed per team. Proof of age and registration with your state must be provided.
Duration 6v6: Games will consist of two twenty-minutes halves without a break at half-time. Players on the field will immediately switch ends and play will resume with no substitutions. 8v8: Games will consist of two 30-minute halves with a five-minute break at half time. 11v11: The preliminary games will consist of two 30-minute halves with a five-minute break at half time. Monday playoff games will be 35 minute halves with a five-minute break at half time.
Fee An entrance fee of $365 for all 6v6 teams; $455 for all 8v8 teams; $475 for all 11v11 teams. EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION: REGISTER BY 03/15/15 AND RECEIVE A DISCOUNT. Please make checks payable to the Amherst Soccer Club and attach to the signed Tournament Rules of Conduct after completing the online application. The fee is forfeitable if you do not play or withdraw after acceptance. If your team is not selected, your fee will be returned.
Tournament Cancellation The tournament Co-Directors reserve the right to cancel the tournament should inclement weather or other unforeseen events result in conditions that are hazardous to the participants or the facilities. Entrance fees will be equally assessed for the costs incurred by the tournament committee and the balance returned to each team.
Entry Deadline Application deadline is April 15, 2015 Register early for we did have a wait list last year. Final acceptance will be made on or about April 30, 2015 and upon receiving a signed copy of the Tournament Rules of Conduct and registration fee. Team rosters and player releases are not required for submitting an application. It is recommended that applications be submitted as soon as possible. When accepting applicants, the date the application and the check are received is taken into consideration. No team will be scheduled for any matches until the full amount of the entrance fee and a signed copy of the Tournament Rules of Conduct form is received by the tournament registrar.
Registration All teams must check in and register prior to the tournament. Registration will be held on Friday, May 22nd, at Tournament headquarters located at Souhegan High School between 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm. The following documents must be presented: an approved team roster, coach’s code of conduct, player cards (U11 and above), tournament medical release form for each player (only tournament medical release will be accepted) and a permission to travel for out of region teams.
Patches/Pins This is a patch/pin tournament. All players will exchange patches or pins with players of the opposing teams following each game. Please remember to bring enough patches or pins for the number of games your team will play. If you do not have team patches any soccer related item is acceptable.
Rules of Conduct Tournament Rules of Conduct will be strictly enforced to allow the players to play the game fairly and without interference. All coaches are required to sign the rules form and agree to abide by these rules. A club representative signing the TRC on behalf of the coach assumes the responsibility of ensuring that the coach receives and accepts the TRC.
