Changes coming this fall: Currently our soccer teams are comprised of birthdays from August 1 to July 31; however, this is changing. US Soccer has mandated that we change to teams built by calendar year of birth instead of school year. This change is for soccer across the nation. Our club along with all clubs in the state, will be implementing these changes this fall. We are sensitive to how it will impact our teams. If you are unsure where your player will play in the fall/spring , this age chart shows all of the breakdowns. Please note that we will look very closely at each of our teams and how this age change impacts them. We will continue to place the appropriate skilled teams in MAPLE as well as the NH Soccer League. At the U15 level we understand many of those players will be in 8th grade. We will have teams at the U15 level in the fall, whether you are in 8th grade or 9th (2002), you are eligible to play in the fall. If you have additional questions regarding the age mandate, check out this FAQ put out by US Youth Soccer (page 2 breaks down some of the specifics).
U9 and U10 teams will play 7v7
U11 and U12 teams will play 9v9
As a sponsor of our league, Dick's Sporting Goods wants to recognize your commitment and dedication to youth sports by extending an exclusive invitation for 10% off your entire order of $50 or more. Good through 1/31/17. Click here for coupon.
We are pleased to announce the new Directors of Coaching for Amherst Soccer Club, Hampshire FC and Hampshire United Soccer Club. Due to our tremendous growth and to better serve our members we are appointing individual Directors for each of the girls and boys programs. The boys Director is Josh Taylor (SNHU Men's Head Coach) and the girls Director is Elie Monteiro (SNHU Women's Head Coach).
We are excited to promote the pair to these newly created positions within the organization. As we continue to grow, these newly created positions are critical in our players development and our team structure. We are so fortunate to have them both on board.
Mark Hubbard (UNH Head Men's Coach) will remain at the helm of the program as the Director of Soccer. He will work closely with Josh, Elie and the board to ensure the ASC/HFC/HUSC programs are continuing to grow and develop the skills of your players.
Girl's Director -- A note from Elie Monteiro:
For the past two years I have been the head women's soccer coach at Southern New Hampshire University. I previously held the same position at UMass Lowell for thirteen-and-a-half years.
I am very pleased to be joining Hampshire United Soccer Club in the capacity of Director of Coaching on the girls ' side. Developing the game of soccer in the southern NH area has been a passion of mine for a long time. I have worked with the club over the past several years on and off, and it pleases me greatly to be able to bring my years of experience coaching at the youth and college levels to help develop our players.
Throughout the winter and spring seasons, I plan to be a presence at various training sessions and some games to lend a hand and bounce ideas off our coaches so that we cultivate a plan to stay on the same page when it comes to creating the best environment and opportunities for our players to grow within the game.
I will be coaching two teams myself this spring season and am certain that our presence and conversations with the various coaches will provide plenty of usable material that will have a positive effect on our players' development.
See you on the field! Elie
Boys Director -- A note from Josh:
Hello HFC/HUSC Parents and Players:
Many of you are familiar with me as I have been part of the Amherst/HFC organization for the last five years. I have served as the director of the Club's Early Development Program (EDP) for multiple years as well as the TOT program in addition to coaching boys and girls teams at various age groups. I am very excited to be taking the next step as the Boy's Director of Coaching for the Club.
I have been a familiar face to those players in the club, on the sidelines and the training grounds. I'm looking forward to directing and supporting the continued growth of our players and the club. My coaching staff and current/past players will continue their hard work and dedication to the club and the individual development of the players. I look forward to this next step and getting to know those new to the club.
Congratulations to HFC/ASC Coach, Josh Taylor! Josh has been named the head coach for the Southern NH University Men's Soccer program. Josh will be taking over beginning this spring at Southern NH University. Josh has also been named the Director of Coaching boys for Hampshire FC, Amherst SC and Hampshire United SC.
